It’s been a very strange week for NASCAR on account of the FBI’s investigation into the Bubba Wallace noose situation. But thankfully, things can now get back to normal with Saturday’s 2020 Pocono Organics 325 in Pennsylvania.
Welcome to the Sports Betting Odds section of The Sports Geek. If you are new to sports betting and don’t understand how to read betting odds (+150, -110, +2200, etc) we will lay it all out for you and help you learn how the betting odds work. NASCAR betting odds are on the board for the Pocono Organics 325, which is set to get underway on Saturday, June 27 at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania.
The race kicks off a NASCAR double header at the Pocono Raceway, with the Pocono 350 scheduled for Sunday. Today, I’ll be focusing on Saturday’s race only and the best odds you can find on our leading NASCAR betting sites.
In terms of the best of the active drivers on this track, there is no doubt that Kyle Busch’s name tops the list. The winner of 2019’s Pocono 325 — as well as a winner of the Pocono 350 in 2017 and 2018 — Busch will be very popular with some bettors. But his tepid season thus far will surely put others off.
But if not Busch, who else stands the best chance of winning the 2020 Pocono Organics 325? Before jumping the gun on betting on the winner of the 2020 NASCAR Pocono Organics 325, let’s see how the odds look, and go from there.
2020 NASCAR Cup Series Kevin Harvick (+450) is a slight favorite to win the 2020 Pocono Organics 325. Harvick has two wins and six top tens so far this season, with his last win coming at Atlanta in March.
Worryingly, Harvick has zero wins from 38 Cup Series starts at the “Tricky Triangle” but has finished runner up on four occasions. In 2019, he won his first pole. His price is influenced by his output this year, and I don’t see any value in his odds.
Now, Kyle Busch (+500) is a driver you cannot ignore in this race. In his last five starts at Pocono, the defending Cup Series champion has registered finishes of 9th, 1st, 1st, 3rd, and 1st. Impressive, huh?
Despite nailing a solid 4th in his first start on this track in 2005, Busch’s first win came in 2017. I’m a little apprehensive about backing him for 2020’s race given his less than stellar campaign so far, but he has to find his first win soon.
Denny Hamlin (+550) won the last Cup Series race on this track, crossing for the checkered flag at the 2019 Gander RV 400. Hamlin won in his first two starts here in 2006, won back-to-back races in 2019 and 2010, and has an average finish of 11.96.
Hamlin is coming off a fourth-place finish at Talladega and a win at Homestead the week prior.
Chase Elliott (+600) and Brad Keselowski (+700) will also be popular picks for the 2020 Pocono Organics 325.
Elliott has four top tens and one top five from his last five races here but has never finished higher than 4th. A winner in Charlotte and runner up at Homestead, Elliott is looking for another big win that could push him as high as 2nd on the Cup Series leaderboard.
Keselowski has wins at the Coca-Cola 600 as well as the Supermarket Heroes 500 and is currently one place behind Elliott in fourth on the leaderboard. Keselowski has one win at Pocono, in 2011, but has failed to finish outside the top ten just twice in ten races.
More than this, he has three runner-up places in that same timeframe, and seven top fives.
And finally, Martin Truex Jr. (+700) is the last driver that will be backed fairly well.
Truex finished 3rd here last year and has two wins at Pocono since June 2015. Truex has one win so far in 2020, at Martinsville, and could be worth a couple of dollars this time around.
As for the rest of the pack? Well, there are three drivers that could be worth a shot for a top ten finish.
Betting on the 2020 Pocono Organics 325 Top Five Drivers
Aric Almirola was one of my picks for a top five finish last week, and he ended the race in 3rd place. This week, I’m going to pass on Almirola and look for drivers I think are better suited to this track.
If you’re betting on a driver to finish in the top five, the following guys are well worth considering.
Who Wins the 2020 Pocono Organics 325?
- Kyle Busch
When making your NASCAR Cup Series bets, track history should be factored in on any driver you are backing to win. When it comes to consistency and habitual success at Pocono, Kyle Busch has the best record of any active driver in recent times.
Three wins from the last five at this track, in addition to a third-place finish in 2018, is nothing to sniff at. As I mentioned earlier, Busch has finished 9th, 1st, 1st, 3rd, and 1st in his last five finishes. He has also failed to finish below 9th in his previous seven returns to the “Tricky Triangle.”
Yes, Busch was expected to do a lot better than he has this season. You could say his form has been a little sketchy, at best. But anyone who knows NASCAR will understand that form is temporary, while class is permanent.
A win here for Busch could be the spark he needs to get back to the type of form that saw him win the Cup Series in 2019. And at Pocono, a track where he has led laps in the past nine races, he deserves to be the man to beat this Saturday.
Busch is more than capable of winning this race, so he’s my betting prediction for the Pocono Organics 325.
Final Words
325 Woodstead Lane 32779
Next up on the NASCAR Cup Series is this Saturday’s Pocono Organics 325, which is the first of two races at the Pocono Raceway this weekend.
Of the big names on the grid, none knows this terrain quite like Kyle Busch, and I’ll be looking forward to seeing if he can add another win to his resume. At odds of +500, Busch is well worth backing to win the Pocono Organics 325 in 2020.
It’s a busy weekend for race fans, and I’ll be looking at more bets, odds, news, and previews on our NASCAR betting blog. Make sure to drop in before the big races.
Whether you are backing Busch or not, good luck with your bets!

Sports Betting Odds Explained
Many people don’t know how to read or calculate sports betting odds, so below we have done our best on explaining how betting odds work. The most common type of sports betting odds used in North America are the American style odds which we explain below.
American Style Sports Betting Odds
Most online sportsbooks will list their odds in what is called “American Odds”. There are a couple different versions of sports betting odds, but these American Odds are the most common odds used. Reading and understanding sports betting odds can bet a little confusing to beginners, so we have provided an example below using two NFL football teams:
American Odds
- Matchup Odds
- New England Patriots +120
- Pittsburgh Steelers -140
The number shown in the bracket represents the odds. The American Odds have two components to them, the first being the positive or negative sign, and the second being the number that follows the sign.
The sign in front of the number indicates whether placing a wager on that outcome will pay out more money then you have wagered or less money then you have wagered. If the odd is negative (-) it means that outcome is more likely to happen and placing a bet on that outcome would payout less than the amount you wagered, while a positive (+) odd shows that the outcome is less likely to happen and it would pay out more than the amount you wagered.
The next step is figuring out exactly how much the bet pays out, which is where the numbers in the odds come into play.
A listed odd with a – sign in front of it, such as the -140 in our example above, shows us how much money you would need to wager in order to win $100. So using the -140, this would show us that you would need to bet $140 in order to win $100 in profits. You can easily substitute the $100 bet for a $10 bet by moving the decimal place over one spot, showing us that you would need to wager $14 in order to win $10 in profits.
325 Odds
Examples:
A listed odd with a + sign in front of it, such as the +120 in our example above, shows us how much money you would win on a $100 bet. Using the +120 odds, it shows us that a $100 bet on that outcome would pay out $120 in profits. Again this can easily be converted into smaller or larger size bets. A $10 bet on +120 odds would pay out $12 in profits.
Examples:
Below is an example of NFL betting odds taken from an online betting site.
In this example you can see Los Angeles is listed at +130 ($100 bet pays $130 plus of course your original wager back) and New England is listed at -150 ($150 bet pays $100).
The great thing about betting online is that the online sportsbooks will do the calculations for you before you place your bet. You can click on the outcome or team you would like to bet on, and then input the amount you wish to wager and it will show you your potential pay out before you confirm your bet.

Decimal Style Sports Betting Odds
Decimal style odds are used mostly in Europe, and are pretty easy to understand. To calculate the decimal style odds all you will need to do is simply multiply the amount you wish to wager by the decimal odds shown and you will get your payout. For example it may look something like this:
Plus 325 Odds
If you wanted to place a $10 wager on the USA at 2.40 you would simply need to multiply your $10 wager by the 2.40 odds (10 x 2.40) to find out that the payout is $24. It is important to realize that with decimal style odds it includes the amount you wagered, so to find out profits you would need to subtract your wager ($24 – $10) to find out your potential payout is $14 in profits.
If you wanted to place a $10 wager on Brazil you would again just multiply $10 x 1.55 to find out that you would win $15.50 total or $5.50 in profits.
Pocono Organics 325 Odds
Decimal style betting odds are very simple to understand, but you won’t see them displayed in many North American sportsbooks. With that said, most online betting sites will allow you to chose the style of betting odds you want displayed, with American odds set as the default.
